Preparation:  Brown Rice

(Onions & garlic & mushrooms are optional):
-sauté onions/scallions/mushrooms and garlic in olive oil and butter
-add 1 cup brown rice and sauté (30 seconds to 1 minute)
-add 1.5 cups of liquid (water or chicken/vegetable broth/stock)
-bring to a boil (add saffron and/or mushrooms for risotto)
-simmer at lowest heat for ~40-45 minutes covered
-turn off heat and let sit for a few minutes
-remove cover; fluff rice (for risotto: add butter and parmesan)
yum delicious 😊

Preparation:  White Rice

(Onions & garlic & mushrooms are optional):
-sauté onions/scallions/mushrooms and garlic in olive oil and butter -add 1 cup white rice and sauté (30 seconds to 1 minute)
-add 1.5 cups of liquid (water or chicken/vegetable broth/stock)
-bring to a boil (or use regular risotto recipe incl. white wine, saffron)
-simmer at lowest heat for ~15-20 minutes covered
-turn off heat and let sit for a few minutes
-remove cover and fluff rice (for risotto: add butter and parmesan)
